Commander John Keen
Background Notes:
John was born on Terra Minor to a wealthy family, and found himself the scion of a long tradition of space officers and war heroes going clear back to the second Zorian war and Federal annexation of Terra, and beyond. He attended the most prestigious academies, served with distinction in several policing actions, and is the sole survivor of a crashed vessel on a hostile world.
Personality Notes:
EXCERPT FROM PREVIOUS COMMAND:
"This highly effective officer appears to have no moral grounding whatsoever, and his line discipline is as low as I've seen. His personal shortcomings, while numerous, do not outweigh the abandon and dedication with which he goes about his assigned tasks. For John, every task is an opportunity to prove that privilege and breeding are not wasted on him, and that he is without peer. His presence can be disruptive, he brings a cavalier attitude to my bridge, and he lacks personal discipline. He was also a critical part of [this mission] and without him we would have perished. Also to his credit, his unassailable calm is a stabilizing influence during times of crisis."
Selection Criteria:
John Keen, CMDR, was rated 5th out of 5 candidates in order of preference for selection for the Endeavor mission. His presence in the top 5 was a courtesy to his father, a noted and influential navy officer. Of the 5 candidates interviewed by Captain Stirling, Keen received the lowest marks.

Colonel Suy Adar
Background Notes:
A consummate battle leader, highly organized and efficient, and with a razor sharp tactical mind, Colonel Adar has proven himself time and again in the Federal Marines. A veteran of numerous policing actions, suppressions of uprisings, and other minor engagements, he is as shrewd as he is cunning. He has no tolerance for shenanigans of any kind, and sticks to proven methods. In the rare event that proven methods are not appropriate, impossible, or are rebuffed, he leans on his XO for input, who is in many ways the opposite of him, another choice demonstrating his dynamic strategies. Colonel Adar is a member of the Trohi race, humanoid in shape with dark brown skin, expressive eyes, and firm musculature.
Selection Criteria:
Suy Adar, COL, Federal Marines, was ranked 1/100 in selection for this mission by Captain Stirling. Of the eligible and interviewed marine commanders, he ranked the highest.

Lieutenant Hacken Jorbal
Background Notes:
Hacken is a loyal officer armed with a sharp and creative mind. The typical scholar-athlete that makes for a good federal navy officer, Hacken represents the rather unlikely species of Betel Sic, who followed a similar pathway to the Terrans and have a very similar outward appearance, though their physiology and anatomy are in fact quite different. Tough and clever, Betelians distinguish themselves readily in the federal navy, though their low population numbers and relative obscurity make that a very small distinction. Jorbal has a good record of loyal service, amicable personality, and diverse resourcefulness.
Selection Criteria
Hacken Jorbal, LT, was ranked 4th out of 20 for his position.
Of the candidates interviewed by Chief Challx for positions of leadership in the security force, he ranked 4/20.

Major Rahbi Lavay
Background notes:
Energetic, enthusiastic, wry, and witty would all describe Major Levay. Ahead of her career already, as the XO of a battalion and only a major, Levay is an inspiration to her marines, and is the unconventional mind that balances out Colonel Adar. While she appears to be an attractive 20 year old near-human female, due to the way her race ages, she has appeared this way for 40 years since she was actually 20. Always with sarcastic or funny comments, Rahbi is also violent and quick to react. While her race is very long lived, and she is comparatively young in her species, she has an aged wisdom that older officers will identify with. This is part of her relationship with the Colonel, in that they are really about the same age. Rahbi has only been with the marines for 10 years, her former life was spent in university studying a broad range of subjects, including art history, stellar cartography, and engineering. Her race, the Aolans, are known for their comeliness, quick wits, glowing eyes, and fangs. They can be frightening to those first encountering them. Rahbi keeps her hair in an A-cut or other somewhat fashionable short style, though its dark red color is natural. Notably, Rahbi’s body is peppered with a great many scars.
Selection Criteria:
Rahbi Lavay, MAJ, Federal Marines, is the only officer that Suy Adar was willing to have as his XO. She has served with him with distinction for several years, and the two form a highly effective leadership team. As a formality, she ranked 1/500 in an objective series of interviews administered by staff other than Colonel Adar.

Lieutenant Commander Faarhi Bri
Background Notes:
This brash but seasoned pilot was an obvious choice for second in command of the spacecraft complement aboard the Endeavor. Her experience in pursuing pirates and raiders comes from over two decades serving the Federal Space Police forces in a variety of interceptors. Though not as familiar with the Dragoon class fighters as she is with the Ranger class gunships, she is still a suitable commander for any of the three dragoon squadrons. Commander Bri is the only officer aside from the wing commander not directly assigned to either a pool of pilots (for the transports, shuttles, and gunships) or to a fighter squadron, and as such can be called upon to join with any group or take command from any ship. She is also a bridge rated helmsman. Her species, the Xavi Shoq, are a humanoid race adapted to their highly toxic and changing native environment with the ability to change parts of their outward physiology in response to harmful stimuli. This natural adaptation allows them to push themselves physically beyond what many other pilots can handle, enduring bone shattering delta-G in situations notably including warp speed dogfights. The complement of pilots does not include very many species capable of handling such maneuvers, making Bri a first class choice for such a mission.
Selection Criteria:
Faarhi Bri, LTC, Federal Space Police, was ranked 2nd out of 500 officers interviewed for her position. Her only demerit was related to her interpersonal skills, which are notably stilted and somewhat lacking. While her technical skills and field performance are first class, she does not manage subordinates aboard ship with suitable finesse. The officer who received the highest marks in selection very nearly did not survive his initial cryostasis procedure, which was then aborted to spare his life and Bri was brought in as an alternate.

Nurse Ursula Voyin
Backround Notes:
Voyin provides to the medical team of the Endeavor someone with the softer touch that may be necessary to prevent overwhelming stress in the crew or moderate discomfort for the VIPs along for the mission. She is a capable assistant and is also fully trained in the spa areas of the main clinic. She can perform a wide variety of procedures on her own, and can assist with emergency resuscitation, a variety of surgeries, laser hair removal, fat reduction, massage, mud treatments, as well as cosmetic design. She is also skilled at keeping a busy clinic organized, and engendering a positive environment. She is positive and encouraging, likes soft music, pretty things, and pets.
Personal Comments:
“I’m just really happy to be a part of all this, you know? I think its super neat to be on board the mission, and I just hope that I can help doctor Varsity to keep up with all of his special work, keeping the crew happy, clean, and looking their best. Some people might not think that aromatherapy is a really important part of a mission like this, but those people should try it! It’s super relaxing!”
Selection Criteria:
Ursula Voyin, RN, was ranked 1st of the 200 candidates who interviewed with Federation Medical Core personnel. While her technical skills were only slightly above average, her personal compatibility with Voracity and Artharius was weighed heavily.

Helmsman Mukinno Mukinna
Background Notes:
Mukinna is a skilled helmsman with a great deal of experience. His species, the U’Rp, were displaced from their rocky homeworld many thousands of years ago, and have been spacers ever since then. MuKinna in his native tongue means “pilot,” and his caste are dedicated to piloting the enormous vessels their species live in as they fly from system to system. Few federation helm officers have as much experience as Mukinno in piloting vessels of the sheer size the Endeavor is expected to be, and his addition to the crew is a wise choice.
Personally, Mukinno is subdued, quiet, and agreeable. His species do not tolerate alcohol or similar compounds well, and he is prone to alternate violence and catalepsy when using it. He is eager to prove himself an important part of the family.
Selection Criteria:
Mukinno Mukinna, ENS, Federal Navy, was rated 3rd out of 100 officers interviewed for helm positions by Captain Stirling. Higher rated officers included were also recruited, as were many less qualified individuals, in order to ensure the ship was adequately staffed.
