just FYI I think that player party is already a bit big, and I would prefer you limited the amount of players at some point.

some so people are aware of my new concept. I am a monk/paladin great elf who may be taking a vow of poverty (exalted deeds). I will obviously not be from "the tribe" I need more information on the Great Elves before i write a back story for my character.

You may be thinking of Jonathan Gid... I dont know if he is gonna want to play or not, but he seems to be a decent sort.

So i guess i am changing my character a bit. i would like to be a great elf, but it is just not doable. The attributes are opposite of what i need. So i will be a dwarf instead.

you know, a dwarf is in fact the opposite in almost every way of great elf... so i would say its a solid choice.

my familial situation has just become more complicated. Thus i will only aim to attend one dnd game (cheyne's game).
thank you for the consideration

A very hearty thank you. It's gonna take me a bit to read through some of those that I'm not familiar with at this point.

This build rewards plodding repetition of a few select spells. The more you do the exact same thing, the more powerful you get. Metamagic Vigor/Spell Rehearsal, Arcane Thesis, Magical Lineage, Residual magic, and all the enhancements to Cold/Evocation reinforce this. Rapid metamagic may not even be necessary, since you won't be moving much (especially with Spell rehearsal feat).
I would suggest that you select a 2nd-5th level spell as both your magical lineage and arcane thesis pick, as that will let you get a bit of extra use out of Quicken and other high level Metamagic. A good pick for Practical Metamagic is probably either Quicken, Energy Admixture, or one of the 2 level adjust ones. Quicken and EA would be more powerful in the long run perhaps, but the lower levels, like empower, would give you the opportunity to use them more often and earlier. Hmmm... You might be able to take Practical Meta more than once. Not sure though.
Oh, also, you might want to take Arcane Disciple: Water (CD) for immunity to cold. Or the Winter or Cold domains; just sub in the Water granted ability and take the alternate spell list, assuming Gid is fine with that.

I'm contemplating participating in the game. Maybe as an archer? Jason is helping me with all the details but mentioned i should make a post to pseudo-reserve a spot.

Dandy.
I suggest
Ranger 20 / Paladin 20 (Best)
Ranger 20 / Scout 20 (Okay)
Ranger 20 / Sorcerer 10 Arcane Archer 10 (Okay)
Perhaps something at higher levels on the Ranger side, but perhaps not. Really just depends. There are specific feats worth taking, and attribute choices, but depends on the build. Let me know, I'm interested in helping with the build, and it should be relatively simple to play.

Speaking from experience the archer paladin, or archerdin, is extremely effective.

another idea, the one that is my new favorite, is a paly/sorcerer/arcane archer. a bit too technical most likely, but it has huge potential from stacking Charisma on everything.

I'm going to place a deadline on player admissions and character concepts. There's a lot of you and I need to prepare for your characters in a number of ways.
I would like to finalize the list of players and their characters monday at 23:59 hours. Further revisions of your characters are permitted up until friday, at which time I would like to possess finalized copies of everyone's characters. Some of you, I believe, have gotten a later start than others. I don't need to see your full build, though I would like it, but you do need to have your level 3 character completed. In general, I would appreciate people having their next level planned out at any given time.
These rulings are not intended to put pressure or absurd restraints on you guys, but rather are intended to allow games to be as smooth as possible, and enjoyable to all.
Further, I have some information for you to use however you wish.
You may call a mulligan on your build within two levels of play and get a respec, if your reasons for doing so seem reasonable to me and you can demonstrate a paucity of either function or flavor.
As was demonstrated in my previous game, aspects of the greater setting that were not available during creation may become available due to story reasons. I may permit partial respecs at these times this time around, allowing you to, between sessions, add in new elements not available or appropriate at earlier junctures, such as oriental adventures in the previous game, and continue the next session. This would represent your characters adapting their "old knowledge" to their "new teachings" and should thematically be such. Further discussion on this when it happens, which won't be for a while.
A lot of work has been done on various character's builds, which I think makes for very strong character abilities, and I would like to see a reasonable amount of work go into the characters themselves, and at least have dynamic and interesting characters available.
I plan for the beginning part of the session to include origins on those of you not from sabian's gash, some background on the world in general, and introductions between the characters.
More coming soon

With the solidifying of my concept and party role, it has become clear that my character (the intuitive and yet highly learned bookworm caster) is definitely -not- from the tribe (which I assume has its origins in Sabian's Gash). As such, I wouldn't mind working with others who are definitely not from that area to get some similar interactive background going.
