What I was talking about was raising a dv by more than 3. It would resolve in different steps, but say for integrity it might be worth it to have the 1st excellency to add4 rolled dice and seeing the result pop the 3rd excellency if needed

Can't do it. First and Third excellencies are still mutually exclusive.

Why can't you at lest combo them?

Because the Charm text explicitly says that you can't.

Sorry it took me a while to find where it said that.

Would it be beneficial for my Lunar to get the ability to see and kill spirits/gods? I know that Zach does that, I wasn't sure if that would step on toes or if it would actually help us out...

Yes, We all need to be able to hit spirits.

It will certainly be helpful for the next session's battle, plus any other time you have to fight something that can dematerialize.

Is it possible for other exalted types to learn the enlightening martial arts charms? The dragon-blooded book say that there still may be solars and lunars that still remember the first age methods.

The two Enlightening charms (or rather, the three sets of two Enlightening charms), are all considered Terrestial Martial Arts charms for the purposes of who can learn them. That said, only the Dragon-Blooded, Dragon Kings, and certain types of gods benefit from the Enlightening keyword (Celestial Exalts don't need it, and Essence-fueled mortals are already getting more than they normally can).

but the charms do let them interact w/spirits.
and yeah, the spirit attacking stuff is good... not entirely necessary now that both zack and i have them, but still useful, and you are a pretty heavy hitter, making it more beneficial for you to have it than some others.

Only two sets of the enlightenment charms do that. The set that would be remembered from the First Age would be Tiger-and-Bear Unity. I don't recall if it lets you hit Dematerialized folks, but if memory serves, they're fairly different from the other two.

Does anyone have a copy of the other Books of Sorcerry that I could use? I have Wonders of the Lost Age and the Black and White Treatise.
