UPS
So I'm going in at 6pm for an interview at UPS. I wanted to sort of collect advice from people regarding what to do/what not to do. Any unspoken dress code I should adhere to or certain things I should or shouldn't say? The online thing made it sound like it wasn't "wear a business suit" formal, as it recommended wearing khaki's or jeans - I'm trying to interpret dress code and formality-level from that and not getting much.
I know a lot of people have worked or interviewed there, so I figured this'd be a good place to ask. I may also give a few of you calls in the later afternoon tomorrow (Monday) to solicit more specific advise and information (particularly if there aren't any responses to this thread :P).

Wear khakis, polo shirt, and dress shoes. At the interview mention that you have friends that work for the company and that you keep hearing what a great job it is. Don't be scared off by the tour, the job is extremely physically demanding but it is very rewarding to (you get paid to work out). After that I am damned near worthless seeing as how I did my interview 12 years ago and I don't have a clue what has changed or who does the hiring anymore.
Well good luck with the interview. Since you are going in at 6pm i am assuming you are attempting to get on the twilight shift. For dress code i suggest jeans and a nice shirt. You can wear a polo if you want. Dress code, imo, is mostly do not wear a suit, slacks, or button up shirt. You want to look nice, but dress like you know you are going for a manual labor job not a desk job.
During the interview just seem up beat and realistic about the job. You can mention that you know people who work there.

Button-ups are bad, m'kay. Slacks too. Dressing for manual labor is good, though clean and nice too.
Enthusiasm about the type of work, having heard about the job and its details from people that work there, and needing a good part-time job to get you through school all seem like a good idea, at least from what I've heard.

Interesting
I also went for the tour and subsequent interview, just about a week ago, and have yet to have a call back, and wonder if I should try to call them, or just wait.
